Registered: Posts: 112 Posted I must be missing something or not understanding something or doing something wrong in being able to use the channel editor. I dumped only the Channel List to the USB stick according to the instructions in Mike Kohnl's tips and tricks. But the channel editor does not recognize the s3602_userdb_dump.bin. Can anyone help me and tell me what I am supposed to do to use the channel editor? I have tried different ways to make it work.
But.I am at a loss. I was able to use the S10 channel editor without a problem with the S10. The Manhattan has got me stumped.
Thanks for the help. Registered: Posts: 995 Posted For the Manhattan, I had to edit an.abs file not the.bin file. For the Linkbox, I uploaded via the serial connection data from a.udf file. There may be other ways to do it, but that is what worked for me. __________________ =========================== Don't blame the computer! Am I on the right track? Get that abs file. Then open it with the editor and select Default Data Base. Make your changes, save it and restore it back into the unit. I then do a factor reset so it can load that default database as the starting point. Hope that helps.

I tried upgrading back using ALLCODE and the edited channel list. All that happened was that the receiver automatically reset the settings. I had to go into System Setup and put the settings back in for my television. The edited channel list did not load into the receiver. You said you then do a factory reset so the receiver can load the default data base (my newly edited and saved list) and use the channel list as the new starting point. If I do not want to do a factory reset, is there another way of upgrading the receiver with the edited channel list? Fellow Members, your posts are welcome here!
Do not worry about posting everything perfect. Different receivers and LNB's will give you different Frequencies and Symbol Rates. It is just most important to share the find. We can always adjust the Frequency and Symbol Rates and try the various Modulations and FEC's on our own receivers until we get a lock and then give a polite reply with what works for your receiver, as that information might help others as well.
